Boatgaine is aimed to be a fun – all of club event – and a bit of an adventure.

So, what is it??? More will be revealed on the day, but here’s the basics:
Sailors will need to form teams of 3 boats
Each team must have at least 7 division points (eg. 1x Div 1, 1x Div 2, 1x Div 4)
There will be a map/chart with locations marked on it.
At each location there will be a laminated sheet with a letter or letters on it.
Teams will need to decide which boats go to which locations, to sight and write down the letters.
Each boat in the team will need to collect a minimum of 2 locations.
Collect all the letters, and work out what the word or phrase is.
There will be a time limit – if one of your boats is late, the team loses points.
In the event there is more than one correct answer, the finish time of the last boat in the team will be taken into account to decide the winner.

I actually think this might be the club event that the sailing world never knew it needed…!! I’m really excited to see how it will work out, and we really hope that everyone will get on board and take part.
